The Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) is expanding its presence in the French market, aiming to lengthen the tourism season and attract visitors to more destinations. The agency is intensifying efforts in France, a key market for Greek tourism, through new partnerships targeting 2027.
IFTM 2026 and New Collaborations
About 200 executives from the French tourism industry attended a B2B event at the French Embassy in Paris. The gathering was organised by the EOT’s Foreign Service France office in collaboration with Sky Express. The event took place during the IFTM 2026 international exhibition.
General Secretary Andreas Fiorentinos highlighted the strategy of “more Greece in more seasons.” He stated that the organisation focuses on extending the season, spreading tourist flows geographically, and highlighting new destinations. The strategy also promotes gastronomy, mountains, nature, and culture as year-round attractions.
According to the announcement, this direction supports the Ministry of Tourism’s strategy for qualitative and sustainable development. The ministry aims to expand tourism activities both temporally and geographically. The participation in IFTM 2026 is part of the EOT’s outward-looking strategy, which relies on close cooperation with regions, municipalities, tourism professionals, and the airline market.
The organisation places particular importance on developing products that boost demand outside the summer peak. These include gastronomic and mountain tourism, nature activities, and authentic experiences in Greek destinations.

Flight Connections and Regional Reach
A key part of the strategy is strengthening air connectivity between Greece and France. Sky Express is a major partner in this effort. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Gerassimos Skaltsas, and Director France Jean Brajon presented the network’s development and future prospects.
A direct Lyon-Athens connection started during the 2025-2026 winter season. This route enhances access for French travellers to a broader network of Greek destinations. The EOT’s Foreign Service Director Emmy Anagnostopoulou noted the systematic work being done in the French market.
Representatives from Greek regions met with key figures from the French tourism market at the event. They presented their destinations and explored possibilities for new commercial partnerships and joint promotional actions. The high attendance confirmed the strong interest of the French market in Greece.
Organisers say the event created new business contacts and cooperation opportunities for 2027. The evening concluded with Greek gastronomy, with dishes prepared by the popular Greek chef Dina Nikolau.
